Postsecondary programs provide certificate or diploma for which the program extends up to 1 year while the associate degree program is of 2 years. The programs are medically focused and include anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, as well as typing, transcription, record keeping, accounting, and insurance processing. During the program students learn laboratory techniques, clinical and diagnostic procedures, pharmaceutical principles, the administration of medications, and first aid. These courses will prepare you well for the diverse skills required in becoming a medical or dental assistant.
